Caverion and universities in Oulu (Finland) launch cooperation in education and smart city development

Caverion is entering a strategic partnership with the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences in education, teaching and research. The focus of the project and research cooperation will be future smart city development, including building automation, energy efficiency and good indoor climate.

”This partnership agreement supports our goals in many ways. Together with education institutes, we want to be part of our young generation’s path and support along the way. Caverion aims to be the first choice as employer in our field and onboard talents who are passionate about creating smart buildings and enabling sustainable solutions,” says Ville Tamminen, Head of Caverion Finland Division. 

“With our comprehensive approach we will support the working life skills of students and the competence of Caverion. Together we can meet the capability needs not only in Northern Finland but also nation-wide,” says Arto Maaninen, Vice Rector, Cooperation, University of Oulu.

The cooperation between the three partners will show in a variety of ways, including thesis assignments, project studies, guest lecturing, industry visits, summer employment and traineeships. An important part of the partnership is providing continuing training for Caverion’s current employees. They will be able to engage in tailormade education and continuous learning.
