The Municipality of Hallstahammar, Sweden chooses Caverion to improve its energy performance
Hallstahammar Municipality has chosen Caverion as its partner to implement an Energy Performance Contract (EPC). The agreement with Caverion is in line with the municipality's goal to significantly reduce energy consumption and at the same time increase the modernisation rate of the municipality's facilities.
In the first phase, approximately 120,000 square meters of the municipality's public buildings will be analysed to create an overall picture of them and their energy efficiency potential. The measures will then be implemented if the municipality decides to go ahead with the project.
"We are excited to get started and see great opportunities to reduce our maintenance debt and carry out necessary modernisations at our premises," says Linus Ekstrand, project manager at Hallstahammar Municipality.
Energy Performance Contracting is a well-proven method of financing building modernisations by significantly reducing energy and maintenance costs in a short period of time. Before implementing the agreed measures, Caverion guarantees reduced energy consumption.
Preparing for the energy transition
Caverion has worked with a number of other municipalities on similar successful projects in recent years, including the Municipality of Söderhamn and Faxeholmen AB in the largest energy performance contract in the Nordic region.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Hallstahammar Municipality to help achieve their ambitious energy and modernisation targets. More and more customers are realising the importance of implementing necessary measures as part of their sustainability plans and preparing for the energy transition. Caverion has extensive experience and expertise in energy and maintenance work and is happy to be a partner in this journey," says Uno Lundberg, Head of Caverion Sweden.
The design and analysis phase is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023, after which the Municipality of Hallstahammar will have the option to proceed with the implementation of the selected measures.
